Customers can buy permits 24/7 online or Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Visitor Services by phone at 630-933-7248 or at Forest Preserve District headquarters, 3S580 Naperville Road in Wheaton.
Purchasing tips will be available online beginning Dec. 1.
Active U.S. military personnel and honorably discharged U.S. military veterans are eligible for one free annual permit per household for all permit types. Senior citizens ages 65 and older are also eligible for one free annual permit per household.
