Customers encouraged to buy online, remotely due to COVID-19
(Nov. 23, 2020) — Starting Tuesday, Dec. 1, visitors can purchase DuPage Forest Preserve District 2021 annual permits for off-leash dog areas, private watercraft, stand-up paddleboarding, model crafts and the archery range 24/7 at dupageforest.org.
Customers are encouraged to buy their permits remotely at dupageforest.org, by phone, via fax or U.S. mail due to the pandemic. To give current permit holders more time to renew, the Forest Preserve District is extending the expiration date for 2020 permit to Jan. 31, 2021.
Nonmotorized private watercraft no longer need water usage stamps, but all watercraft (except stand-up paddleboards) need hull identification numbers (HIN).
Senior citizens 65 and older and military veterans who have qualified for a free annual permit in the past will automatically receive credit for their 2021 annual permit upon completion of their online transaction.
The family camping season will run May 7 – Sept. 25, which includes May 27 – June 1 for Memorial Day weekend, July 1 – 6 for Independence Day weekend, and Sept. 2 – 7 for Labor Day weekend. Picnic shelter and camping reservations are available up to one year in advance.
To purchase permits online:
1. Visit dupageforest.org.
2. Click “Registration & Permits” and “Permits/Passes.”
3. Scroll to the one you want and click “Add to Cart.”
4. Log into your account. (If you bought a permit or signed up for a program online or over the phone, you likely have one.) Don’t have one? Click “Create New Account.”
5. Use your credit card to make a secure payment.
6. We’ll process your payment and drop your permit in the mail!
Customers can also purchase permits by phone through Visitor Services at 630-933-7248 Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. or via U.S. mail or fax. Applications are available at dupageforest.org under “Things to Do,” “Get Outdoors” and “Permits and Fees.”
